About
Pocket Verdict started as a group chat where a few of us kept sending each other links to weird little games. At some point we had enough opinions to fill a website, so we built one. The idea is simple: cover the games that get overlooked, and be honest about how they feel to hold in your hand.
We don't chase trends. A game gets a review when someone on the team has actually finished a decent chunk of it, thumbs sore and all. That means our catalogue grows slowly, but everything on it has been touched by a human who cared enough to keep playing.
We try to cover every genre, not just puzzles. Racing, RPGs, tiny strategy games, oddball simulators — if it runs on a phone and does something interesting, it's fair game. Genre snobbery bores us.
No studio pays us to be nice. When something drags or the controls fight back, we say so. The whole point is that you can read a Pocket Verdict piece and know we'd tell a friend the same thing.
